DON’T LET IT BECOME A THING! #10

“Last December was DorsalDad’s birthday #65. He was getting a lot of Very Nice Cards and some phone calls from places I am not pup-miliar with, like, AARP, and Medicare and Other Older People Organizations and Pub-clubs. He did not Pup-pear to be happy with those! So, DD, don’t let IT become a thing! “So let’s chill.”

I Bree-cided to remain pup-positive in my pup-thoughts and Bree-main impeccable with my words. So I try and stay away from words with any negative connotations or which might be construed as such. Like. “Can’t, Won’t, Don’t Shouldn’t and Couldn’t. But sometimes you just have to use those words. As in: “Don’t touch that! It is hot!” Or, “You shouldn’t be a bully” MM’s brother #2, Professor Mallard, even says “You shouldn’t ever say shouldn’t ever, Or never ever say never or always.” He is into loving support and against any sort of shaming. I Bree-ly like PM… He may be a strange duck, but he always plays with us pups!

So when I say, “Don’t Let IT Become a THING” It is the best way to say it. IT can be anyTHING from, you are late and stuck in traffic making you even later, to the annoying telemarketer phone calls that come to your house when you are trying to eat your Krabbles and Bits, to the more serious family issues and world news. Oh boy! My DD and MM seem to get very animated when CNN is on TV. And thus, IT can easily escalate into a THING that can ruin the moment or your entire day, if you replay It in your head. You become frustrated, angry and pup-set. IT magnifies and intensifies thus giving IT more power to ruin the moment. All we really have is this present of the present moment, now. We live in the here and now, whether you prefer to be here, or there, or anywhere else. Or would rather now be later, or anytime but this time! This is IT!

One of my things is word things as I am learning to write. I have been asked, when I scribble like a pup, why do I use Big Dog Words? Be-paws, it is my unique style. We all need to find our own way to express ourselves. I even have my own Special Pup Dictionaries I Bree-crated so my family could pupper-stand me. And Musicmama suggested I learn one new word a day. Hence, the dichotomy. Is that right? So I will not be afraid of big words or let them become a Thing.

Poor Musicmama! She is Very Sensitive to all noise. It is one of her Things. So she doesn’t like leaf blowers, or buzz saws, woofers barking, or as she called one such noise, “that dog darn incessant hammering.” It makes her Very Cranky! And she can be louder than a leaf blower when she’s crabby! So MM, don’t Let IT Become a Thing! Just put some headphones on with soothing music when it’s noisy.

To all woofers, hoomans and others: Paws, take a breath, say the Serenity Prayer, find someTHING to laugh at, including yourself, or someone who may be in the back seat or within hearing distance when you blurt out, Dog darn it! And make IT into a good THING, or at least the best thing it can be Bree. No one is PURR-felt, unless you are a silly cat! And you nose how we feel about them. Paw haha! 🙈😻
